Reason # 1.
Enjoy the beauty of cycling alongside vineyards and the Black sea – at the same time!
Reason # 2.
Colorful markets with cheap produce are common, including leeks that are 4 feet long. Seriously! We saw an older woman using one as a walking cane as she left the market.
Reason # 3
Ornate orthodox churches with towering onion domes are in every small town. You can go inside to admire the artwork for free.
Reason #4:
Low traffic roads.
Reason # 5
Cheese Banitsas (a sort of puff pastry) for breakfast and snacks.
Sarah Erck Welle and her husband James got married, quit their jobs, and bicycled around the world.
In November of 2006 they left their comfortable corporate jobs and set out looking for adventure on the open road. One year later they returned, after traveling through 20 countries and cycling over 10,000 kilometers.
The story of their adventure is at erck.org
