In early 2017, we invested in a mirrorless camera. The obvious pros compared with a traditional DSLR are the reduced weight and size. The Sony A6000 is one of the most highly rated entry-level mirrorless cameras on the market. Nikon D3100 DSLR<\/h3>\n

We purchased\u00a0our D3100 back in 2013 and are highly satisfied with the camera. \u00a0Even after being exposed to extreme conditions from intense heat and cold to\u00a0long periods of time in humid climates, the camera continued to function without fail. \u00a0It performed above and beyond our expectations. \u00a0Now that we have the new Sony Alpha\u00a0A6000, we'll be using the Nikon as a back-up.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Mini Tripod<\/h3>\n

If you want to take selfies, then it's a good idea to get a tripod. \u00a0Over the years we've used several different tripods, all of which eventually broke. \u00a0Recently we met a cyclist who was using a Tamrac TR404 ZipShot Mini Tripod.<\/a> \u00a0We got one and it's amazing. \u00a0Most tripods are heavy, difficult to carry and slow to set up, causing many missed photo opportunities. Most folks are surprised that I carry a full-sized laptop in my panniers. What can I say? \u00a0like the big screen for watching movies and editing photos and love all the storage space for stocking photos. \u00a0For a computer that cost around $300, I certainly can't complain about the quality.
