Their trick to staying on the road so long:

Living cheap (around $500 per month for two) and picking up work along the way…they’re willing to do just about anything from picking apples, to painting to cleaning.

Travel philosophy:

Be self-sufficient.  Take your time, stop along the way, give yourself over to random encounters.
